Teaching Philosophy

“Innovation in education is not about the latest gadget; it’s about using technology to enhance learning outcomes

SINOPSIS KURSUS

This course aims to provide understanding to students about research as applied in a business context. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required in a basic research process. Students will also be introduced to the core concepts, methods and research issues which lay the foundations for conducting a research. Data analysis, interpretation and presenting analysis output will also be discussed.

  • Describe how research is being conducted.
  • Understand the issues, process and methodologies used in conducting a research.
  • Acquire knowledge and skills for the purpose of data coding, editing, analysing, data interpretation and report writing.

Teaching Methodology

Teaching-learning and assessment strategy: Mixed method between teacher-centred and student-centred approaches. Assessment strategy is based on a combination of formative and summative assessments.

Dear Students,

As part of the ongoing monitoring of your Undergraduate Project, all groups are required to update their project progress in the system.

Your progress report should include:
• Current status of your project (percentage of completion)
• Tasks completed to date
• Tasks currently in progress
• Any challenges or issues encountered
• Planned activities for the next phase

Progress updates must be submitted through the project management portal by the specified date. Supervisors will review submissions and may schedule a follow-up meeting if further clarification is required.

Groups with no recorded progress updates may be flagged for academic review. Please ensure your submission accurately reflects the actual state of your project. Refer to the following link to get your latest info on your group assignment:

BPMNK3143 Research Method: Literature Review and Research Instrument Table Template

Guideline for Preparing Literature Review and Research Instrument Table

Dear students,

This guideline is prepared to assist you in developing your Literature Review and Research Instrument Table for your research project.

The purpose of this table is to help you organize your research variables, define each variable correctly, identify the appropriate measurement items, and state clearly whether the research instruments are adopted or adapted from previous studies.

In preparing your table, you must include the following components:

  1. Research title or topic

  2. Theoretical background or supporting theory

  3. Identification of variables, such as dependent variable and independent variables

  4. Operational definition for each variable

  5. Items measuring each variable

  6. Source of the instrument, whether adopted or adapted

  7. Measurement scale used

  8. Full list of references in APA format

Please ensure that your variables are clearly classified. For example, you must identify which variable is the dependent variable and which variables are independent variables. If your study includes mediator or moderator variables, these must also be clearly stated.

For each variable, you are required to provide an operational definition based on previous literature. Do not define the variable based on personal opinion. The definition must be supported by academic sources.

For the questionnaire items, students must refer to previous studies. You are not encouraged to develop your own items without proper academic justification. If you use the exact items from previous studies, state them as “adopted”. If you modify the wording to suit your study context, state them as “adapted”.

As a general guideline, each group should have a minimum of three independent variables and a maximum of five independent variables. Each variable should have a reasonable number of items, preferably between three to ten items, to avoid making the questionnaire too long for respondents.

All groups are required to follow the table format provided. This will help ensure that your research instrument is more systematic, academically supported, and aligned with your research framework.

Please download the template attached below and use it as your main reference. ( Table format)
